GrainPro and the Neumann Gruppe USA divisions — Rothfos, InterAmerican and Atlas Coffee Importers — are working together toward a more sustainable green coffee industry.
Thanks to this collaboration, green coffee buyers can recycle their GrainPro hermetic bags, TranSafeliners and other hermetic liners used in the chemical-free preservation of premium coffee beans — something that wasn’t possible before in the United States (despite much aspirational recycling) across the industry.
This important work is also made possible through the generous cooperation of Continental Terminals, a third-generation family-owned warehousing company that has been a critical partner in the coffee value chain for more than 60 years.
How It Works
Green buyers in the United States have three ways to participate — all of which begin with filling out this form.
One: Automatic collection: If you use GrainPro TranSafeliners and ship into the CTI Annex or CTI NJ locations, the liners will be automatically recycled.
Two: Mail in your bags: Fill out the form to let Continental know you’ll be sending the bags. Then, shake out the bags — making sure not to include zippers, zip ties or trash — and fold or stuff them into a box or GrainPro bag. Using your preferred carrier, address the package to a Continental Terminals location and apply postage. (The two warehouse addresses are listed on the form.)
Three: Return with a delivery. If you’re a CTI customer, fill out the form to send bags back with the truck after a delivery.

How It’s Going
“It’s our goal to be a responsible partner and leader in the green coffee industry, which means guiding the way toward improved sustainability,” said Nicolas Rueda, CEO of Neumann Gruppe, the Americas. “We’re delighted to encourage the success of this effort by communicating its availability to our clients and networks.”
The Neumann Gruppe USA (NGUS) divisions have long-established relationships with roasters of every size and need across North America, as well as decades-old relationships with coffee producers, cooperatives and associations. Prioritizing the future of coffee — via the social, environmental and economic factors impacting it — works in service of NGUS clients on both sides of the supply chain, as well as the NGUS vision to lead with responsibility, respect and an unwavering dedication to the product and people elevated through its best work.
Recently, GrainPro and NGUS expanded their recycling effort into Europe, where processing is being handled through NKG Kala. •
